Helping Our Furry Friends! – Animal Haven

Since 1967, Animal Haven has served the New York City Tri-State area, providing exceptional care to unhoused cats and dogs. They make considerable efforts to go beyond the basics and have been a top choice for pet adoption in the region.

On Friday, the Wholly Medical team was able to volunteer at Animal Haven to assist with taking care of shelter duties for the day. From playing with puppies and cats to cleaning up doggy rooms and replacing food, we did our best to make sure the animals stayed happy. In New York, thousands of stray dogs and cats are brought into shelters each year, a rate which has increased the past few years. By assisting with the care of these animals, we can make sure that they find their forever home with a loving family. One pup who inspired us was Pipa. She was dumped over a fence with her siblings at just a few weeks old. When she was found and taken to the vet, they determined that her spine was fractured, essentially paralyzing her from the waist down. Even with her ailments, Pipa was still smiling and moving with excitement as she snuggled into her wheelchair for her walk. Animal Haven has been giving her the best chance they can to give her a normal life. If you or anyone you know is interested in adopting a pet, please do not hesitate to reach out to Animal Haven!
