Turkey Time II: Sill Gobblin’ – City Point BKLYN

As the holiday season returns, we’re reminded once again of the power of community, connection, and care. Thanksgiving isn’t just a date on the calendar, it’s an invitation to pause amid the rush of life and reflect on the people, moments, and simple comforts that keep us grounded. Whether it’s gathering around a table, sharing a laugh, or enjoying a warm meal, this time of year encourages us to recognize the blessings that often go unnoticed. Gratitude has a way of recentring us, reminding us that even in challenging times, joy can be found in togetherness and generosity.

This year, that reminder feels especially important. Many families continue to rely on essential support systems like SNAP, which plays a critical role in helping households access healthy meals year-round and not just during the holidays. As food prices remain high and economic pressures continue, programs like SNAP help ensure families don’t have to choose between nourishment and other basic needs. Thanksgiving shines a light on how crucial food security is, and why community-driven efforts must continue undisturbed to support and uplift those who need it most.

Yesterday, in partnership with Naked Perfection Spa, a Black-owned skincare business in Brooklyn, the Wholly Medical team returned for our second turkey drive, this time at City Point Mall in Brooklyn. Together, we distributed roughly $1,000 worth of Thanksgiving groceries, each bag filled with everything needed for a full holiday meal: a whole turkey, stuffing, corn, green beans, gravy, rice, fruit mix, kidney beans, pasta, mashed potatoes, yams, cranberry sauce, collard greens, and cornbread.

These moments remind us what collective care truly looks like. The ability to show up, share resources, and help families enjoy a warm, abundant Thanksgiving meal is something we hold with deep gratitude. Community is built not only through large gestures but through these shared acts of kindness that ripple far beyond the holiday season. Seeing families come together, excited to cook and create memories, reaffirms the purpose behind everything we do. To all who celebrate, Happy Thanksgiving! May your day be filled with warmth, good food, and the people who make your life meaningful!
